Control Chart

Major Topic Area: quality concepts

Control charts are used as part of a statistical process control system.

The most common control charts are X-Bar, R. These two charts record the average (X-bar) and the Range (R) of a set of consecutive samples taken from a process at a point in time.

Analysis and interpretation of these charts can determine the presence of assignable cause variation.
